Allow me to introduce ye olde Tavern Table. This venerable English fellow is more than 300 years old and it’s where I do my writing.
When I sit here, there’s a palpable presence. I can feel the weight of its history. It takes little effort to imagine everyone who sat around this, sharing a pint or a dram. I know the menu; a trencher of Yorkshire pudding, steak and ale, pheasant, or wild boar pie. Fish and chips with a side of mushy peas. Sunday roast. Full English.
How many stories have passed across this table? How much life has been lived around this old chap? How many tales has this ancient oak soaked up?
hopefully, I can add a few more.
Writing on a wooden table where the wood is alive will breathe life into your work!
Been a proud yorkshireman I love the fact you mentioned our famous pudding!!! It's history is very interesting and is a sweet treat as well as a savoury staple!
